A Happy Little Life

I am vowing (sort of) to get the camera out and start snapping pictures.  There are the teeny tiny evidences of Spring stirring around here.  There is something when new life starts blossoming up out of surrounding deadness that is simply breathtaking.

In the meantime, here is a short accounting of the long history of His goodness to me:

#'s 662-678

the beginnings of bird song
barren trees lining the street, across from
trees full of delicate pink blossoms

boys building forts

jazz for little piano players

leaf blowers

painting pots and plates

my girl memorizing songs
her writing a story.... with chapters
that she thinks work is play

two littles making lenten sacrifices
how they don't get discouraged when others don't understand

that my love can run and jump and play his game

that sometimes the veil lifts ever so little, and
I get to peek under it, and
I see a treasure meant for me, for us...

Spring is coming

holy experience

  1. there you are! (and here i am :) so glad to see your gratitudes this day. i am so thankful for this "short accounting of the long history of His goodness to [you]"

and i hope, hope, hope that you do "get the camera out and start snapping pictures."
i would so enjoy seeing what you see, as you see it :) and as you know, this Floridian knows nothing firsthand of the "something when new life starts blossoming up out of surrounding deadness that is simply breathtaking."

i envision each gift with smiles and joy and then i am overwhelmed with thanksgiving in this:

that sometimes the veil lifts ever so little, and
I get to peek under it, and
I see a treasure meant for me, for us...

    Spring is coming

    I love you, Dear One!

  3. Kara,
Simply stunning!! Love that your littles are so bold to experience sacrifice (can't imagine where they got that?!) Love the visions of new life. So glad He makes things new every morning and gave us new life! Continue to celebrate life, sister! Your practicing is showing through!

  4. I didn’t come from Ann’s link – just came by today to read your words. And they were awesome – I don’t know if you meant the print to get really small like that – but it was perfect – artistic – and made me slow down and think. And today my favorite from your list was her writing a story.... with chapters that she thinks work is play – because for her it is – it’s a precious time – it makes a heart glad to see you capturing this time. {smile}

God Bless and keep you and yours
May His face shine upon you…
    and all of yours.
