Counting the gifts #896-948

painted toes, peasant skirts and toe rings

that rules can be fun!

these reminders:
"extreme soul makeover" does not exist
it's a process
that's the way He likes it

God the Father is really more loving
more concerned
more generous
more fair
wiser
gentler
kinder
smarter
more in tune
more reasonable
a better listener
friendlier.....
than I am.

really.

hugs and kisses from my love
his words of kindness and admiration
how so many of my life's dreams have come true with him by my side

summer evening walks, holding hands

that she came and brought her three precious others
the walks and talks
the fun we had
breathing the same air
sharing the same space
a luxury

the way she takes pictures

how my pup loved her like he's always known her
the way a dog can just know

telling her my secrets
the ones you don't tell anyone else
the ones only she would care to know

how He is her bottom line
in everything
always.

a few favorite memories:

And this just last night:
our boy sharing a difficulty
getting to be mama and daddy with listening ears
mama kisses smoothing the brow
daddy words soothing the mind
him being thankful, and, us even more so

holy experience

  1. smiles and warmth, joy and joy upon joy for each of your gifts listed here, now.

as i read of your hand-in-hand walks with your hubby and the dreams He has blessed you with, i smiled with you, for you, at the remembrance of His many blessings; and then i stopped to count my own shared with my I do :)

    i love the echoes from your Sunday learning. i love that they are now an echo for me too :}

i love the mental picture of you & your hubby sharing Truth with that sweet growing up boy.

and i love your picture selection. and yes, i love that our loves are together in them :)

thank you for counting us gift... for counting me gift.
i was listening to the radio on the way home from the market & Tenth Avenue North came on:

"...But don't you know who you are,
    What's been done for you?
Yeah don't you know who you are?

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
    You've been remade...

'Cause this is not about what you've done,
But what's been done for you.
This is not about where you've been,
But where your brokenness brings you to

This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.

You are more than the choices that you've made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
    You've been remade."

i was thinking how thankful i am that i know Whose i am, and so, yes, i know who i am.

and then i was thinking that i am also thankful that you know who i am -- most all of it -- and still, by His grace you love me & count me gift. how blessed am i? oh how He loves me!

i am so thankful for our time shared in the same space. it is interesting ((disclaimer to any who pass this way & do not know my heart: please don't read what i'm not typing)) as i have so enjoyed the togetherness of our families, and now we are here and you are there, separated once again by some 3,000 miles... it is a bit like the sweet longing for 'home'. Thankful for the here and now, enjoying the here and now, praising Him in/for the here and now - but sweetly missing what i know is so beautifully wonderful.

    I love you, Dear One.

  3. all of it – awesome – full of awesome Kara - and if I have to pick a favorite – and I always like to pick a favorite – how could I not pick this…

    mama kisses smoothing the brow
    daddy words soothing the mind

The way you wrote it – perfect. The picture is right there to be seen. The differences between a mama and a father - love, but different – and needed – it warms my heart. God bless and keep you and all of yours Kara.
